If you ever considered going on one of those super-expensive African safaris, consider a cheaper option: Wisconsin.

The town of Seymour, Wisconsin (Population 3,455) is on the map and in the news this week because of a video shared by a local driver of a garbage truck.

David Haupt was driving his route last week when he thought he spotted some loose horses, but when he got closer, he realized they were something else.

“My God, there’s literally zebras walking down the road,” Haupt says in the video. “I’m not even kidding: what in the actual …”

His local news outlet, WBAY, caught up with Haupt and asked him about the experience.

“They were off in the distance, as I got closer, they looked like horses, and I got closer and I happened to be talking to somebody on my headset and I’m like ‘I think I see zebras’ and they were like no way, I’m like ‘Nope those are zebras.’”

He was worried about the safety of the animals, so he chased them into a nearby field away from the road and called the Outagamie County Sheriff's Office.

“I’m right outside of Seymour, there’s a couple of zebras walking down the middle of the road, and if you think I’m kidding, I’m not,” he said in the 911 call.

The owners who lived nearby picked up the runaways were there within 40 minutes to take them home.
