Iowa’s Mike Wolfe Is Closing One American Picker Antique Store
What started with a couple of guys sifting through junk in Iowa to find hidden treasures turned into a multi-million-dollar business. But now, times are changing, and things are closing.
Antique Archeology will now be down to one location, as Mike Wolfe explains he's been spread too thin. He says, "It’s slowing down a little, staying rooted, and focusing on the new projects that are pulling at my soul."
American Pickers and Antique Archeology
It's been a hard year for Mike Wolfe and the crew with American Pickers. On September 30, 2024, his longtime friend and partner Frank Fritz passed away.
The show has been on a break however, they will be back for season 27 at some point in 2025. The show was actually most recently filmed in March of 2025 in Michigan.
And while Danielle Colby has been most recently focused on her burlesque career, she is not done with American Pickers yet either.
Antique Archeology Closing One Location
It was in 2011 that the brand, which started in Iowa, expanded to Nashville. Now, on April 27, the store will close for good.
Mike stated on Instagram, "After nearly 15 amazing years, we’ve made the tough decision to close the doors of our Antique Archaeology store here in Music City. This place has meant the world to me — not just the brick and mortar, but the people. The community. The visitors from all over the world who came through those doors, shared their stories, and reminded me every day why I started this journey in the first place."
For Wolfe, it's about time. "Sometimes, even when something is good, you have to pause and ask yourself where your time is going — and where your heart is calling you next."
So, what is next for Mike Wolfe? You will still be able to see on the screen. The big screen. Mike has a new movie called "Day of Reckoning".
Again, the day of reckoning for the Nashville Antique Archeology is April 27. Things for the Iowa store appear to be normal, as Mike says that one isn't closing.
