Officials from the new I-74 River Bridge announced on Wednesday that more lane closures are coming to Bettendorf as crews continue their work. Motorists will need to be aware of these closures so they can look out for construction crews and plan their commutes.

According to the post, officials say that upcoming work will require lane closures on Grant St/US 67.

Beginning Friday, August 13, weather permitting, there will be lane closures on Grant St/US 67, between Kimberly Rd/12th St and 18th St. These lane closures will allow contractors to work on the overhead I-74 structures.

Officials want motorists to know that these lane closures won't last too long. The lane closures on Grant St/US 67 are anticipated to continue for approximately one week. There will also be intermittent lane closures throughout the month as crews continue work on I-74 and the new I-74 bridge.

I-74 River Bridge officials remind motorists that Mississippi Blvd will also be closed on August 13 and 14. Mississippi Blvd will be closed between Kimberly Rd and 14th St during those two days to allow contractors to set steel beams.

Motorists who need to travel on Mississippi Blvd on August 13 and 14 will be directed to use Grant St/US 67.

We will keep you updated as more closures and detours pop up during the construction of the I-74 bridge. We're getting so close to the completion of the new bridge, Quad Cities!
