The SHARP shooter, brought to you by Elite Sportsbook and Rhythm City Casino is our daily blog that will find the best bets the sharps on on for each day.

Sharps, in gambling terms, are the professionals in the gambling industry.  Rarely do the sharps fall on the "fun" bets like betting on the favorites or betting on the over total.  The sharps usually go against public popular line-- taking advantage of inflated lines and mismatched numbers due to a large percentage of public bets on a certain play.

The easiest spots to find sharp plays are in nationally televised games, primetime games, and big games between popular teams with, teams with star players and rivals that get a lot of air time during the week on sports media.

It is important that you do your own homework and look at trends, as well.  Simply going contrarian against the popular public bet won't always be profitable.  Find the games that work best for your bet and your budget.  Pay attention to sharp trends-- you rarely want to be on the wrong side of the pros.

3:08 P.M. CST, FS1: Houston Astros (107-55) vs New York Yankees (103-59)

If Game 2 is an indication of how good this series is going to be than we are in for a classic.  The Yankees stole home field advantage when they won Game 1 of the ALCS.  Astros needed an extra inning walk off home run by Carlos Correa to even the series.  Now, the series continues in New York.

The Astros are putting Gerrit Cole (20-5, 2.50 ERA) on the mound.  Cole has been lights out this season.  Cole has 2 starts on the year against the Yankees and has 1 win and 1 no decision.  The Astros won both games.

Luis Severino (1-1, 1.50 ERA) has has been recovering from surgery that has kept him out most season for the American League East Champions.  This line opened as Astros as -160 favorites but we have seen line move to -150.  56% of the bets are coming in for the home team and same on the SHARP side.  SHARPS like to go with value and getting the Yankees at +150 is the value.

7:05 P.M. CST, TBS: St. Louis Cardinals (91-71) at Washington Nationals (93-69)

The Cardinals are struggling at the plate-- hitting .122 in the series so far.  The Nationals starting pitching have given up ZERO earned runs.  ZERO.  The Cardinals are in a must win situation being down three games to none in this NLCS.

Dakota Hudson (16-7, 3.35 ERA) throws for the Cardinals.  Hudson has face the Cardinals twice this year and only gave up 3 earned runs in 13 innings.  He bested Stephen Strasburg led Nats in a September match up.

The Nationals trot out their $140 million man, Patrick Corbin (14-7, 3.25 ERA), to end the series.  Corbin is 1-1 in 2019 against the Cardinals and 2-5 in his career.

This line has moved to -160 since opening at -150.  There has not been much SHARP money line to report, but there was early action on the OVER.  The TOTAL opened at 6.5 and got hammered to 8- where it stays now.

It is not easy to sweep in a seven game series. Since the seven game series in the Wild Card era, there have only been 12 sweeps.  I like the Cardinals.
