Hey Iowa, How Big of a Downgrade Was The 2007 Iowa State Logo?

Last night I was lying in bed, scrolling through social media, feeling my brain slowly melt away its entire existence. Man, election season is a fun time to scroll through social media.

Once in a while you'll come across something that makes you laugh and makes you think. I moved to Iowa around 2 and half years ago and I'm curious what longtime Iowans think about the Iowa State logo that was introduced in 2007.

I've become pretty familiar with the Iowa Hawkeyes and the fandom behind that University but living on the eastern side of the state, I don't run into a ton of Iowa State diehards. I have a friend from Iowa, who's an Iowa State fan but I've never asked him about this logo change. I'm curious what you think?

My opinion doesn't hold much weight but...I kind of like the old logo better? I found this post from Iowa Chill yesterday and was hoping you could weigh in.

The first time I watched Iowa State play football was when I was around 10 years old. It was a Saturday and my dad was watching and Iowa State game at our house in Minneapolis. I think he was waiting for the Minnesota Gopher game to start so I believe he had it on just for something to watch. The first thing I remember about watching that game was the former QB, Seneca Wallace. For some reason, I just remember thinking he was fun to watch.

I also liked the Iowa State colors, Wallace was mobile and could run around, and I thought the bird on the helmets looked cool. You know, all of the important things for football teams when you're 10...

After watching that game, I don't remember watching another Iowa State football game again, until moving here 2 and half years ago.

Obviously the logo has changed since then and I'm curious how Iowa State fans feel about it. Do you miss seeing Cy on the football helmets and other school uniforms or are you a fan of the 2007 logo? This happened about 17 years ago, so maybe you've just gotten used to the I-STATE logo but I'm curious about your thoughts.
